04

Dad needs a ride to appointments, and we can’t always get there.

05

Time for you

Cover for a few hours or a regular day each week, so you can rest and keep up with your own life.

Transportation

Getting there, safely.

Companions can drive your loved one to appointments, errands and outings. Mileage is $0.75 per mile when a caregiver drives.

Every caregiver who drives a client must meet our driving standards

  • No more than two moving violations in the past three years
  • No at-fault accidents in the past three years
  • No DUI, DWI or reckless driving convictions in the past seven years
  • At least Florida’s minimum auto insurance, kept current
  • Driving records checked every year

Non-hands-on.

Florida lets companions offer a steadying arm and simple grooming help, but not hands-on personal care such as bathing, dressing or toileting, and companions don’t handle medications. If that help is needed, we’ll match a CNA or HHA for personal care, at the same rate.

Companion care, plainly.

Comparing options? See companion care and personal care side by side.

What’s the difference between companion care and personal care?

Companion care is non-hands-on: company, meals, errands, rides and help around the house. Personal care adds hands-on help, such as bathing, dressing and toileting, from a CNA or HHA.

Can a companion drive my parent?

Yes. Companions can drive to appointments, errands and outings, and every caregiver who drives a client must meet our driving standards. Mileage is $0.75 per mile when a caregiver drives.

Can a companion stay overnight?

Yes, when a caregiver is available for your schedule. Overnight companionship gives your loved one someone close by through the night. Tell us about their nights and we’ll recommend a schedule.

Is companion care a good fit for memory loss?

Often, especially early on. A companion brings steady company, familiar routines and gentle reminders. As needs grow toward help with bathing or dressing, care can move to personal care.

Does companion care cost less than personal care?

The rate is the same at every level of care, so there’s no price jump if needs grow. Rates depend on the length of each visit. Straightforward pricing, no enrollment or placement fees.

How short can a visit be?

Visits start at one hour, so you pay only for the time you need. See hourly and flexible care and pricing.

Where is companion care available?

Across Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Brevard counties. See the towns in our service area, and call (407) 599-1900 to confirm caregiver availability for your address.
