One rate, any level of care. Personal care from a CNA or HHA costs the same as companion care. Straightforward pricing, no enrollment or placement fees.
Rates for couples.
When one caregiver cares for two people in the same home, usually a husband and wife, the hourly rate covers both.
$50.63
per hour for both, visits under 4 hours
$44.55
per hour for both, 4 to under 8 hours
$36.11
per hour for both, 8 hours or more
Why shorter visits cost more per hour.
A caregiver drives to every visit, whatever its length. A higher hourly rate for short visits keeps them worth the trip, so they can be covered reliably. You still pay only for the time you book, from as little as one hour.
A few hours a week
Three 2-hour visits a week is 6 hours at $37.50, about $225 a week.
Weekday afternoons
Four hours a day, five days a week, is 20 hours at $33.00, about $660 a week.
Full days, every day
Eight hours a day, seven days a week, is 56 hours at $26.75, about $1,498 a week.
Examples for one person at standard new-client rates, before holidays or mileage.
The only other charges.
No enrollment fees and no placement fees. Just two things to know about:
Holidays
Visits on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day are billed at 1.5 times the regular rate.
Mileage
When you ask a caregiver to drive your loved one, to an appointment or errands, mileage is $0.75 per mile. It covers the caregiver’s fuel and vehicle costs.
Questions
Paying for care, plainly.
How much does home care cost?
For one person, standard new-client rates are $37.50 per hour for visits under 4 hours, $33.00 per hour for 4 to under 8 hours, and $26.75 per hour for 8 hours or more. Your service agreement confirms the rate that applies to you.
Does personal care cost more than companion care?
No. The rate depends on the length of each visit, not on the kind of care or the caregiver’s credential.
Are there enrollment or placement fees?
No. Straightforward pricing, no enrollment or placement fees.
How short can a visit be?
Visits start at one hour. See hourly and flexible care for how scheduling works.
How do I pay?
Care is billed weekly through your client portal. You can pay by bank transfer (ACH) or credit or debit card.
Do you accept Medicare, Medicaid or insurance?
We accept private pay and long-term care insurance. We don’t bill Medicare or Medicaid.
What if I need to cancel a visit?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations or reduced hours with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged for the full scheduled visit, because your caregiver has set that time aside for you.
