The TenderCare Difference
We Care for Our Caregivers
We reject the high-volume model that treats caregivers like interchangeable parts. At TenderCare, we believe that caring for our caregivers is the best way to care for our clients. Here's what that means for you:
Why Caregivers Choose to Stay at TenderCare
You'll Work With Clients Worth Showing Up For
We are selective about the clients we take on. Before placing any caregiver, a member of our leadership team meets personally with the client and family to assess the home environment, set expectations, and confirm the placement is a good fit for everyone. We don't just match on availability. We match on compatibility. The result is that our caregivers consistently report working with families who are respectful, communicative, and genuinely appreciative of the care being provided. If a placement isn't working, we address it directly. We don't leave our caregivers in situations that aren't right.
Direct Access to Leadership — Not a Staffing Hotline
When you have a question, a concern, or a scheduling need, you reach a person who knows your name and your placements. Not a call center. Not a ticketing system. Our leadership team manages caregiver relationships personally, which means faster resolutions, fewer miscommunications, and a workplace where you're treated like a professional; not a number in a system.
Locally Owned, Locally Accountable
TenderCare is independently owned and operated in Central Florida. There is no corporate office in another state setting policies that don't fit our market. Decisions are made here, by people who work here, and who are accountable to this community. That means when something needs to change, it can change; without waiting for a regional manager to approve it.
Financial AdvantagesÂ
Competitive Pay — Among the Highest in Central Florida
We consistently offer some of the highest caregiver pay rates in the area. We believe that exceptional caregivers deserve exceptional compensation, and our rates reflect that. When you bring reliability, compassion, and skill to your work, we make sure it's worth your while financially.
Flexible Shifts — Including Shifts as Short as One Hour
We accommodate the full range; from 1-hour visits to around-the-clock care. Whether you're building a full schedule or filling in specific gaps, we can work with you. Many of our caregivers carry a mix of longer ongoing placements and shorter visits. You tell us what works.
The Independent Contractor Model
At TenderCare, caregivers work as independent contractors. This carries real advantages, but it also comes with responsibilities that are worth understanding before you apply.
Scheduling flexibility: As an independent contractor, you control over your schedule. We work to match placements to your availability — not the other way around.
What it means for your pay: You receive your full contracted rate without employer-side tax withholding. This gives you more control over your finances. But it also means you are responsible for managing and setting aside your own taxes. Many contractors find that working with an accountant helps them make the most of their situation.
Potential tax deductions — ask your accountant: Independent contractors may be eligible to deduct certain legitimate business expenses. Common examples for caregivers include:
- Mileage driven to client locations
- Job-related training and continuing education
- Work supplies (gloves, scrubs, uniforms)
- Professional liability insurance premiums
These deductions vary by individual situation. We recommend consulting a tax professional to understand what applies to you.
